The Robie House Chicago,Illinois--1908--Frank Lloyd Wright, Architect Gamble House Carson House The Robie House is the epitome of a Prairie style house. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Frederick C. Robie, it is it an important house in American architecture history. It has strong horizontal lines, wide overhangs and bands of art glass windows at consistent spacing. The home uses the open floor plan and allows free flow between the areas of the house. The house is a National Historic Landmark. It is owned by the University of Chicago, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust looks after the renovation of the house.
